The Presbyterian Church
114 Boon Street
The Presbyterian Church was built between 1875 and 1881. It is a two-story, flat-roofed, L-shaped
stone building with a four-story, square stone tower. This structure, designed by Ware and Van
Brunt of Boston, was originally part of a church edifice and had a tall wooden gable roof and a
wooden belfry on the tower which were destroyed by fire. The structure, which has seen little
use for some 50 years, was sold in 2017. The present owner, according to the Narragansett Times,
"is proposing a quasi-reconstruction of the church with additional space for residential use." That
additional space would be created through the construction of second- and third-floor units.
